We're working with some leading institutions to launch a unique Distance Learning Sports Coaching qualification and we're looking for design assistance in creating the launch site.
The aim of the site is as follows:
• Educate & Excite Students about the courses
• Drive registrations of interest
• Encourage Students to share information about the coaching course with others
• Accompany the Launch Event as a resource for Press contacts
Initially we'd like you to design the main homepage, but the site itself will feature a handful of pages explaining more about the course.
Please can you ensure that for the final design, individual components of the design are movable, rather than a single 'background' page, so we can rearrange assets depending on the copy we eventually use.
We will work with the winning designer to expand their design over the remaining pages, and to use the real copy for the site. We have attached a really simple wireframe (hero bar + USP outlines) as a starting point (we're happy for you to use or ignore this as you wish, but hopefully it helps explain what we're trying to achieve).
Some of the details are currently being kept under wraps, but here's an outline of some of the USPs:
• Unique Founding Partnerships – This is being founder thanks to some partnerships across some big names in international sport.
• Expert Involvement – We have World Class coaches (some household names) providing content and teaching as part of the course.
• Full access to unique Coaching tools to help students build their coaching knowledge through their career.
We've provided a few examples of sites we like, and lots of examples of existing sites that are very boring examples of course explanations.

Muss haben
- • Contemporary Design.
• Represent key USPs, with simple navigation between them.
• Enough information to generate interest, to drive requests for info pack, but little enough to browse quickly.
• Clear CTAs for registration to receive more information
Good examples:
• Ably.io – Clear description of features, few concise scrollable pages highlighting key USPs https://ably-staging.herokuapp.com/
• University Tech College: Contemporary feel, simple presentation of key points across a few pages, light on copy http://utcliveseries.co.uk/
Sollte nicht haben
- • Using too much text to explain a point. We will be producing Video & Images to add content to the pages.
• Crowding the key points in amongst other navigation.
Bad Examples:
• Lots of waffle, Uninformative Module list, Course info crowded by other content - http://courses.leedsmet.ac.uk/sportscoaching
• Low value content – little information, single scrollable page, copy-heavy, effectively text only: http://www.uel.ac.uk/undergraduate/programmes/sportscoaching.htm
• Single, text-only page to explain the entire course (Although the layout is much cleaner): http://www3.open.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/qualification/pathways/q76-2.htm
• Crowded Navigation, copy-heavy, journey around the page is generally unclear: http://www.solent.ac.uk/courses/undergraduate/sport-coaching_bsc/course_details.aspx
