Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung
We have a real estate company in San Diego California (USA). We used to be called Top San Diego Homes but we are expanding in to other parts of California so we cant have "San Diego" in our name anymore. Therefore, we are changing to "Ardent Real Estate Services"
We do residential real estate (no commercial or high rise so please no city-scape logos)
The word Ardent when looked up in the dictionary means "Intensly Devoted" or "Fiercly Loyal". That may or may not help.... We would like a logo that looks strong and professionaly but certianly not scary.
I have attached some existing business cards, signs, etc so you can see what our exitisting branding looks like. We would like to keep the branding the same with the background entirly filled in red coupled with white, gold and black lettering and logo (if you want to throw a little silver in there go ahead - no other colors though). I am a retired Marine and our company is located in a military town. The Marine Corps colors are scarlet (the color of blood) and gold - our clients identify with those colors easily so that is why we need to keep them. Feel free to add white and black and silver in addition to the gold in the logo if you desire (remember that the background is red).
The current logo sits inside of a black box - we dont want that anymore.
We dont really like the 3 little houses so they can go away.

We have seen several submissions and feedback has been provided to the ones that we are looking at.
We have determined that we are looking more for a logo that would be positioned to the left of the company name. Desiring something that is wider vs. vertical.
Colors: the colors for the logo and company name can be: Black, Gold, White, and if you need to put a dash of Silver in there go ahead. No other colors than those please.
Also, please remember to put everything on a red background.

Update:
Colors: We have been getting designs with all different colors. Please stick to the colors that I posted (Dark red, black, yellow, white, and some silver is OK too). The red background needs to be a darker red and one tone througout. The gold .... well, we use more of a yellow than a gold. Please use the yellow.
Look: Our logo needs to be more side to side vs. vertical. Please create a simple yet bold and elegant logo that is separate from the name. It should not be a house or anything to do with the house. Just a simple logo that stands out. It should be to the left of the name.
Background: We have decided that we need to look at black backgrounds in addition to the red taht we intially asked for. Please look at the attachments to see what I am talking about. Please submit designs on both a black and a red background.

Upon careful consideration - we have opted to have the new logo and company name in a black background - exacty the same as it is in the attachments I included. Therefore, all submissions should come in a background with the same dimensions (just make it close) to what is on our existing business cards and signs (see attachments)
