Poster-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We need a poster design for our upcoming feature film, THE KILLING TREE.

Logline: When a detective on the trail of a serial killer turns up new evidence she decides to investigate the theory that there may be two killers. What she discovers is an impossible truth that will turn allies against her, and force her to question everything she’s ever believed in.

It’s a thriller/sci-fi set in the near future, in a crime-ridden and industrialised Perth complete with a permanent blanket of smog and the occasional acid rain.
The protagonist is a female homicide detective who has been on the hunt for an elusive serial killer, nicknamed ‘The Sculptor’ due to the elaborate poses he leaves his victims in.
The killing tree appears in the film as a tree which has branches that turn into knives. It is tattooed on the chest of the killer.
It also refers to the film’s theme: nature versus nurture. The film explores whether the killer has become what he is because of the childhood abuse from his father or if killing is his nature.

Our initial thought is that the tree would have to appear on the poster, but we are open to suggestions.

The poster needs to convey the dark tone of the film.
We're looking for a clean, professional look.

This is for a pitch, the poster is a mock-up that needs to help us sell the movie.
