Poster-Design Kurzbeschreibung
We are a troops support non-profit in the Washington, DC area. We promote the "Code of Support" for our troops as a way to ask all Americans to do their share iin defending freedom. This project is to create a frameable version of the Code of Support as a recognition to be provided to corporations and other organizations. This should be an attractive and impressive piece that a business would be proud to frame and display for its customers to see. The final product will need to be customizable by us so that we can insert the name and logo of each company or organization this is being presented to, include the date of presentation, and then print it for presentation. The theme of the design should be overall patriotic with a troop flavor, perhaps including the emblems of all five military services, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast guard. the Code of Support itself (attached) should be featured as an integral part of the overall design including its text, with the actual format and presentation left to the designer . The Logo of the Code of Support Foundation should be prominent, probably at the top (two alternatives attached). For this design competition, I will provide a company name and logo ("Chadwicks") attached...this is where we will need to be able to replace Chadwicks with another company name and logo. The featured text for the certificate is as follows: "Presented to Chadwicks Restaurants in recognition of your outstanding support of America's Service Members, Veterans and Military Families, and in appreciation for your commitment to encouraging all Americans to follow the Code of Support for our troops." At the bottom, it should include: "Presented this 15th day of December, 2014." Two signature blocks should be below, with space for original signatures to be placed. Signature 1: Alan B. Salisbury, Ph.D; Major General, USA (Ret); Chairman & CEO. Signature 2: Kristina Kaufmann, Executive Director. More background information on our web site, www.codeofsupport.org. We are open as to whether this should be a traditional design or a more modern design and leave that open to the designer with the guiding thought that it should be impressive and catch the eye of the viewer.

I have just uploaded a very generic, very bland (PDF file) layout with a very traditional approach. It's a possible layout only, not a design, not the "preferred" approach and only meant to provide a guide to a possible balance between the elements, with the Code of Support very prominent and readable. I also added a "Salute to Service" as a possible heading in this layout.
DO NOT let this deter you from your own creative approach! The first design that I received is very creative and much different and much better than this layout and that's the kind of design I am looking for. I will provide individual feedback for each design I receive.......Alan

I'll extend the cutoff date to midnight EST December 10th to allow the final submissions from a couple of designers who just accepted the invitation to submit in the last few days. We already have some great designs to select from so there will be no additional extensions.

Project Deadline Extended
Reason: The system seems to only allow a 5 day extension, but our time schedule requires that I cut off new submissions by the end of tomorrow, Dec 10. We will begin the final review and selection process on Thusday morning, Dec 11 and should make our selection not later than Friday the 12th. Thanks to all who are participating. This will not be an easy selection process!

Selection is ongoing. A total of twelve designs from six designers are in the semifinalist group (Hussein, Arnel, Corpuz, Tero, ElJan, and Sabin). We are in the process of selecting three finalist designs and then will make our final selection, hopefully by tomorrow (Tuesday, Dec 16).

We have selected three finalist designs. Two are from Sabin Design Studios and the third is from elYJan. I will be in direct touch with these designers to discuss selection of a winner. Thanks you to all the other designers who participated. All twelve of the semi-final designs were very good and choosing our finalists was not an easy task. Thank you again.

Sorry for the delay. The holidays interrupted the process as key players were on vacation. Picking up the process again today and will be responding to our finalists very soon.
