Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung
We need a logo design (redesign) for a new web & mobile app company based in California called Main Pursuit. We aggregate experts building out a vetted community of travel/local experts to provide the best travel advice available both on the web and downloadable to your mobile devices. An expert will build out suggested itineraries (list of things to do) which we call 'pursuits'. Think music playlists on your ipod, but with travel/local information that you download to your phone to take along during your trip for easy access on the go. Our 'icon' is an octopus and we would like to keep an octopus. (think clean modern representation versus photographic/realistic image)

Suggestions: Black and White - could incorporate shades of gray.
Could consider a touch of color.
The design should be:
Convey luxury brand
Iconic
Clean
Weight the font heavier - no slim lines
Current circle around octopus not necesary
Consider a tie together for the font and octopus icon
Octopus at some point needs to be able to stand on it's own - as it will be used as a 'button' (icon) - (this - the small f for facebook, the bird for twitter, the p for pinterest, etc)
Color is ok, but need to offer a black and/or gray version.
Schön zu haben
- currently the logo is two stand along entities, the octopus and the text part of the logo are not connected in any way. while this is not necessary, we are looking for opinions of if they should or should not be.
Sollte nicht haben
- no colorful cartoon renditions (we started out that way and it is not the image we are trying to portray)
