Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

We have a logo we are for the most part, very happy with that has been attached in ai format. We find the rays in the background to be a little busy and are looking for more of an orange gradient rather than the rays. Also, I want to make sure that it would be a workable logo for a variety of formats i.e. web, print, etc. Not sure if the square shape or other shape might work best. Very little needs to be done to tweak this. The main project I am looking for is to take that logo concept and create a kids logo based on this design called 'Peninsula Kids' using kid friendly objects, i.e. clouds, etc. while still keeping the flavor of the original logo, i.e. waves, etc.
