Logo-Design Kurzbeschreibung

I'm looking to get a logo designed for my company. Company name is Avid Resource Management Ltd. I work in the oil and gas industry primarily on the regulatory end of things. Now with the regulations I deal with them in two different aspects. The first aspect I deal with regulations dealing with the environment and minimizing oil and gas's impacts on new developments, the second aspect has to do with meeting regulation with existing producing wells and pipelines (from a non-environmental aspect). Since I deal with the environment and with productions I would like to see a logo that reflects that (ie a combination of trees (wilderness) and oil/gas (ie. oil drop or a derek). I would also like it to reflect a bit of myself (ie Avid is just David without the D). My background is forestry so I started I the businesses managing our forests and the environment and now I also assist in management our oil resources. The logo should also be fairly simple but recognizable. The other options would be to just utilize my company name and utilize different font or add a decorative logo with the name.
