Vektor-Design Kurzbeschreibung
I need a vector design done in Illustrator that can have separation for screen printing. The maximum colors we can have are 7. This is for Utah Odyssey of the Mind - a creative problem solving program for kids from kindergarten through college that combines science and technology with art and drama. Most of the kids who will get the shirts are in elementary and junior high school.
We have a design concept in mind - I have included a really basic and limited clipart/ cut and paste mock up of our idea, just to use as a starting point (sorry, I'm not artistics!!) The idea is that we are going sort of on a boxtroll type theme, but different enough to avoid any copyright issues. Because much of what the program involves is cardboard boxes and duct tape, we want a "Prop Monster" theme that is similar to the Boxtroll theme (without being copyright infringement). We'd like the "Prop Monsters" to spell out OotM (one letter on each monster) done in a way that it looks like duct tape, pvc pipe or other common prop building materials (ribbon, recycled stuff, etc). So, the idea is that the monsters' bodies will be built out of cardboard boxes (sort of used looking, not too clean!) The boxes will be pretty mono-toned, and then have the monsters heads be pops of color. One of the Monsters (the one on the far left on the sample), should be a dinosaur shaped box (see example) but with our Mascot, Omer the raccoon, in it instead of a kid or monster. On that monster, we'd like it to say, Utah & Idaho, 2015. I have included Omer, the raccoon, we are fully licensed to use this logo, and he can be changed up a bit to fit the needs of the design.
For the boxes in the background, the sample picture really just contains place holders that we are not attached to at all. We want them to look more like boxtroll boxes -- a little beaten up, with the pictures in a mono-tone color. Each box in the background should represent one of the problems: Runaway Train, Technical Difficulties (involves a "mysterious engineer" and devices that are operated by rubber bands), Pandora's Box, Lose Your Marbles (this is a structure made of balsa wood that must hold weight while also passing marbles through it), Silent Movie, and Wacky Weather Station). A seventh box should be added to represent the Spontaneous Problem, which usually has kids build structures out of things like marshmellows and spaghetti or other random materials.
As we are a creative problem solving organization, we are open to a final picture that looks different than the sample we included as long as 1) it includes prop monsters made mostly of cardboard and duct tape, 2) it incorporates the mascot Omer into the picture, 3) has the representation of the six problems, and 4) meets our color and format requirement.
