CHALLENGE: need an elegant, upscale logo that is NOT boring

We are looking for a logo design for a new consulting firm for university admissions. The company helps children (ages 12 to 18) prepare to get into the best university possible. The service is sold to parents who want the very best education for their children.

We want a logo that conveys intelligence and strength. The design should imply a connection to colleges or universities (a stylized tower or columns, for example).

Preferred colors include red, silver/grey, and white. The background on the web site and business cards will often be black, so the logo should work well on a black background.
