Central Texas Alliance for Careers in Healthcare C-TACH

Purpose: We are re-branding our organization's name from the name Health Industry Steering Committee of Central Texas (HISC). The HISC is over ten years old. It supports the quality and availability of healthcare workforce in Central Texas. The HISC convenes industry, education and government members and other experts to identify, study, and address specific issues that create bottlenecks in healthcare education and transition to practice.

The primary focus is nursing as that is the largest and most pressing healthcare workforce shortage. However, we also support outreach to young people to encourage an interest in health careers in general and monitor supply and demand in all health professions for the local workforce system. We are a membership organization and are seeking to increase awareness of our mission and to expand membership. This re-branding process is one of our first steps in that direction.
