Can you create a packaging design that far outperforms the golden box attached?
Please understand the Kimono box is just an example so we are not looking for a copy.
The Kimono box I'm showing you is an example; the entire packaging is wrapped in gold foil.

Here's what we understand from the Kimono box :
If the tiger and bamboo were true emboss/deboss, you would see clear pressure marks on the reverse side. Since only KIMONO / MICROTHIN show through, that tells us something important.
Most likely, Kimono uses:
- Smooth gold foil
- A micro-etched foil plate (very shallow, not a deep emboss), that create the textured appearance of the box.
- Artwork-driven shadow + line density
- Selective emboss only on key elements
The micro-etching on the foil plate creates a tactile feel and light distortion, so it feels textured when touched, but doesn’t push the paper enough to leave marks on the back.
So:
